How do I find the right therapist?
Psychotherapy is deep work, requiring commitment and trust from both parties. It is important that you feel at ease with the therapist you choose, so it is a good idea to meet and talk to a few different therapists before you make a decision. Every therapeutic relationship is unique. It is fine to say ‘no’ until you feel you have found the right person. Equally, a therapist will have a sense from your initial meeting whether or not he/she will be able to work with you. It is about finding a good ‘fit’ for both parties.
